COULD YOU

VOLUNTEER

FOR

LOOE

LIFEBOATS?

Just imagine what you could do …

Join our unsung heroes as a lifeboat crew member Become a Community Safety Advisor Get involved in youth education Help as a street collector, event marshal or cheerer Take visitors on guided tours of the boathouse Sell gifts, organise stock, display and sales So you don’t have to get your feet wet!
Volunteers are the heart of the RNLI and make up 95% of our people. They are ordinary people who do extraordinary things and without them we couldn’t save lives at sea. And it’s not all about volunteering on our lifeboats or at our stations. There are so many other ways you can give a little (or a lot) of your time to support the RNLI and make a lifesaving difference.
Lifeboat crew member Our unsung heroes, on call to drop everything, rush to the boat and launch into the water. In the words of one crew member, “The first few minutes are intense, but it's an enormously rewarding thing to do".
Community Safety Advisor Our volunteers are crucial, helping raise awareness and spreading our safety messages to boat owners, cliff walkers, scuba divers, in fact anyone who goes on or near water.
Boathouse Tour Guide Boathouse Guides help us save lives at sea by enabling visitors to see the RNLI  boathouse at first hand, showing visitors our boats and launch vehicles.
Youth educator Education volunteers share safety messages and inspire young people about how to stay safe in and around water and what to do if they need help.
Shop Volunteer The purchase of souvenirs and gifts has always been a popular way for the public to support the RNLI. Our shop volunteers keep our shops open.
Fund raiser/Occasional Volunteer Help us to fundraise. There is something for everyone, by yourself, in a group, at work, at school, in celebration, in tribute. Your contribution will really count.
