Looe Lifeboats – Another Busy Year

We are supported by 32 volunteer crew, 16 fund raising committee members and a number of others volunteering as souvenir shop assistants and boathouse guides. In 2017 Looe Lifeboats launched 34 times. That makes Looe the 84th busiest station out of 239 in the UK. 27 people were rescued during our 2017 operational year.

RNLI Coronavirus MeasuresIn order to protect our visitors, RNLI volunteers and to ensure our volunteer crews are able to launch our inshore lifeboats on service, the team here at Looe Lifeboat Station have taken the difficult decision to postpone the opening of our boathouse and shop to the public. Unfortunately, this also means that we are unable to offer group visits at this time to the lifeboat station.
